Watch! Our lives gradually fading away
our world; God is gift; in complete disarray
Relaxed are the privileged on others’ toes
Treating neighbours like their most dreaded foes
who shall bell the cat for us?
Let thou O God defend our noble cause

Reached o Lord; the time to heed our plight
Cause our hostile enemies to be on flight
Enough the pains they have inflicted
Our robust economy they have wrecked
Never interested in our affliction
Heed o Lord to our noble lamentation

Goodness of creation! Where thou art?
For less than eternity for thee we have sought
Greedy men in our midst turned thee down
Pitched they their banners so high in town
Preaching orderliness amidst confusion
Projecting to height unity despite diversion

Our political leaders have turned our terror
Were they elected in error?
Be our guardians or leave us unsheltered
be not in power to have us scattered
in all our sorrows, to whom shall we go O lord
to none else but thee my God.
